Description

5-Way directional compo switches are very useful, especially for navigation control. But, they are awkward and complicated to mount and connect.

This kit provides everything you need to neatly mount these in your project. The kit comprises:

  • High-quality custom-made bezel
  • Set of 5 combo switches
  • Custom PCB
  • Connector, Female 6-way (2×3)
  • Screws

Optionally, you can buy just the PCB, if you already have buttons etc.

The PCB connects the 5 buttons to a common ground pin, with a ground plane. Each switch “pulls low” to the common ground (e.g. to suit Arduino etc).

The switches are mounted onto the custom PCB’s front. The header connector is soldered to the rear. The PCB assembly is secured to the rear of the Bezel with the screws provided. The complete assembly is then mounted into your enclosure or panel, and held in place with adhesive (not supplied). Full instructions are supplied.

The bezel overlaps the front of the enclosure or panel by 3mm all round, thus hiding that untidy cut-out and giving a nice, clean and professional finish!

The bezel is made from high-quality acrylic with a professional smooth glossy front. This is NOT a cheap 3D printed part.

This is a terrific kit for your hobby and home projects, allowing a new way to interact with the project.

  • Connector is 6 way: 1 common /ground, and 5 connections for the switches
  • Designed for 12mm x 12mm tactile switches with pins spaced at 12.5mm x 5mm, with switch centre-to-centre of 13.25mm
